Ilias Lalaounis Collaborates with Ancient Greek Sandals
The fine jewelry house and footwear company are producing their second collection of bejeweled sandals to be sold on Net-a-Porter.

New York--Greek fine jewelry house Ilias Lalaounis has found a natural partner in Ancient Greek Sandals.
The duo are collaborating on a capsule collection of sandals called The Ophion Collection (ophion translates to serpent), encompassing six styles that center on a snake motif, an important symbol in Greek mythology.
This is the second summer that Lalaounis and AGS are pairing up for a collection.
Ilias Lalaounis is the Greek jewelry brand named for its founder, who started the company in the 1950s in Athens. Lalaounis derived inspiration from classic Hellenistic design. Today, the business is run by Lalaounis’ four daughters, who brought the brand to its first Couture show in Las Vegas this year with the Rainbowwave showroom booth.
Ancient Greek Sandals is a Greek footwear company founded by designer Christina Martini and CEO Nikolas Minoglou, who look to ancient Greek culture when creating their sandals, which are handmade by local craftsmen using centuries-old techniques.
The six styles of sandals are made in vachetta leather or sunbeam snakeskin, with gold-tone accents.
The Ophion Collection is priced between $285 and $789 retail, and is available for purchase on Net-a-Porter.com.
