John Hardy Infuses ‘Icon,’ ‘Heishi’ Collections with Color
The expanded collections now feature hand-cut gemstones like topaz, tanzanite, chrysoprase, chalcedony, smoky quartz, and fire opal.

The “Icon” and “Heishi” collections continue to showcase the Balinese craft motifs that the brand is known for, now combined with contrasting architectural gemstones like topaz, tanzanite, chrysoprase, chalcedony, smoky quartz, and fire opal.
“Since joining John Hardy, I’ve been looking for the right way to introduce color beyond hardstone,” said John Hardy’s Creative Chairman Reed Krakoff, who joined the brand from Tiffany & Co. in 2022.
“Semi-precious stones give a luxe treatment to two of John Hardy’s most beloved collections. Icon is more tailored and dressed up. Heishi is more casual and everyday. They’re complimentary and interchangeable.”
The new bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings in the Icon collection reimagine John Hardy’s woven chain motif with the addition of round gemstones bezel-set in silver.
This collection focuses on topaz and tanzanite, with some styles accented by pavé diamonds.
The brand said the new Icon debuts are tailored and architectural as the single stone setting offers a sophisticated counterpoint to the collection’s sculptural craft chain.
While Icon is sophisticated, the new Heishi expansion is more relaxed as it draws inspiration from the carefree spirit of friendship bracelets.
The Heishi beads crafted from hardstones, enamel, silver, and 14-karat gold remain, now punctuated by cushion-cut topaz, tanzanite, chrysoprase, chalcedony, quartz, opal, and malachite.
The necklaces, bracelets, charms, and earrings use vibrant color palettes reminiscent of the beach and were created to layer.
Under Krakoff’s leadership, the brand said the new Icon and Heishi gemstone lines are a modernist refinement of the brand following its 50th anniversary last year and introduce newness through material, color, and craftsmanship.
The new Icon and Heishi pieces debuted on Aug. 5 and are available on the John Hardy website as well as in-store at select retail partners.
