New York--Lara Spencer of ABC’s Good Morning America will again host the GEM Awards, scheduled to take place Jan. 10 at Cipriani 42nd St. in New York.
Spencer, a journalist, began her career covering features and hard news for local television channels, moving into the lifestyle and entertainment fields over the years.
She has been a national correspondent for Good Morning America and has hosted PBS’ Antiques Roadshow and CBS’ The Insider, an entertainment news show. She created and is the executive producer of the HGTV series Flea Market Flip, currently in its second season.
In 2011, Spencer returned to ABC News as the co-anchor of Good Morning America, where she still works today.
“After winning over the crowd last year, we know Lara’s bubbly personality, expertise in the lifestyle field and love of fine jewelry make her a perfect mistress of ceremonies for this year’s exciting new GEM Awards format,” said GEM Awards Chair Rachel Branch.
The Jewelry Information Center (JIC) announced last year that the 2014 GEM Awards would be different, with the winners announced live during the ceremony for three of the show’s categories.
Additional information on the GEM Awards, as well as tickets, are available on the JIC website.
