U.S. customs agents in El Paso, Texas, intercepted the package, which would have been worth $9 million if the jewelry was genuine.
Jewelry fit for even the king of ‘Thrones’ fans
Canadian jewelry brand Pyrrha has forged a partnership with HBO to craft a line of Game of Thrones-inspired ring and necklaces made in sterling silver and bronze that retail for up to $900.

Made at the brand’s studio in Vancouver, each talisman necklace will feature a unique interpretation of the sigils, or symbols, of the powerful houses of Westeros: Targaryen, Stark, Baratheon, Tyrell, Lannister and Greyjoy. Westeros is one of the two fictional continents where the popular fantasy-drama takes place.
In addition, there will be Game of Thrones rings, called “banner bands,” and “Shield” necklaces, which are longer lariat-style pieces. Pyrrha said the collaboration with HBO is ongoing and it expects to add more pieces soon.
The pieces are sterling silver and bronze and range in price from $98 to $900 retail. The brand notes that some of the silver pieces are heavy, hence the $900 price tag.
Game of Thrones jewelry will be available for sale on Pyrrha.com, at select retailers who carry the brand and on HBO’s online store, which sells merchandise related to a number of the network’s shows.
Pyrrha creates jewelry by hand in its studio in Vancouver, and the brand is best known for its talismans handcrafted using antique wax seals. Pyrrha is sold at more than 300 retailers worldwide, including Liberty of London, Fred Segal LA, Le Bon Marche Paris and United Arrows of Japan. The brand also has a flagship store in Los Angeles and sells online at Pyrrha.com.
The company’s designs have appeared on the big, and small, screens in the past. The Swan talisman was used in the ABC show Once Upon a Time (though it wasn’t specifically designed for the show) and Katey Sagal, of Married … with Children fame, wears the Vanity talisman on Sons of Anarchy while Brad Pitt donned Pyrrha in World War Z.
Game of Thrones first aired on HBO in 2011. The fantasy-drama follows the kings, queens, knights, renegades, liars and noblemen battling for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.
The fourth season is set to debut on April 6.
