Fitness mag features Apple Watch
While many publications have focused on the smartwatch’s fashion and productivity abilities, Self is touting the timepiece for its health-monitoring functions.

Apple Watch is worn on the wrist of South African model and Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel, with Self stating the timepiece is a “Spring must-have, the Apple Watch.”
On page 12, in the Editor’s Letter, Editor-in-Chief Joyce Chang writes, “Being on time is the chicest entrance ever, in my opinion. Even better if you’ve walked to your destination, unrushed and confident where you’re going. Still better if you’ve been able to respond to messages and calls along the way. And when you arrive, you tell your friends your multitasking secret: your Apple Watch. Sound good? Well, welcome to the new normal.”
Chang then goes on to call the smartwatch a “total game changer.”
The smartwatch is pictured to the right of the letter under the headline “Changing it up,” where Chang lists her picks for the accessories she’s trying out to mix up her look for spring. The Apple Watch is listed second with the caption, “I’m psyched to consolidate my health apps in one place--and to have on-my-wrist Internet.”
Apple still has only officially revealed that its smartwatch will be “Coming Early 2015,” not releasing specifics on where exactly it will be sold. It was, however, reported earlier this month that Apple will be adding jewelry store features to its retail locations. In addition, the smartwatch was previewed at Paris-based clothing and accessory store Colette last October during Paris Fashion Week. The eight-hour preview was open to the public but neither Apple nor the retailer would comment on whether Colette would be a location to carry the smartwatch.

Prior to being featured in the March issue of Self, the timepiece graced the cover of Vogue China last November.
But while Vogue and Colette took a more fashion-based approach to showcasing the Apple Watch, Self is touting its health aspects.
