Infinity Gauntlet Set With 170+ Carats of Colored Gemstones Up for Auction
A replica of one of the most powerful objects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the glove is heading to auction next month in Abu Dhabi.

In 2019, Adam Mirzoeff, CEO of family-owned New York jeweler East Continental Gems, was visiting with a senior Marvel executive and noticed a toy version of the Infinity Gauntlet on his desk.
One of the most powerful objects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Avengers, Spider-Man, Wolverine, etc.), the metal glove imbues the wearer with incredible powers. To harness that power, all six Infinity Stones must be collected: time, space, reality, mind, power, and soul.
Mirzoeff half-joked that his company should create a real one, and it was later commissioned after East Continental Gems reached an agreement with Marvel and Disney.
Marvel granted East Continental Gems access to its layered design files for the Infinity Gauntlet, allowing the company to craft a detailed reproduction.
For this version, though, the six Infinity Stones on the glove would be real gemstones.
The gauntlet is about 20 inches tall, so the colored stones had to be big.
The Time stone, which gives the wearer powers including time travel and stopping time, is a nearly 23-carat untreated Colombian emerald.
The emerald had been in East Continental Gems collection for more than 30 years before being used in the glove, Julien’s said.
The Space stone, which can be used to teleport, is represented by a more than 30-carat sapphire from Madagascar.
The Reality stone, which lets one manipulate matter and create alternate realities, is a more than 15-carat Mozambique ruby.
The Power stone lets the wearer harness energy. It’s a more than 35-carat oval-shaped natural amethyst.
The Soul stone, a more than 35-carat cushion-shaped spessartite, gives control over souls, life, and death.
The Mind stone, used for mind control, is represented by a “high clarity, intense color” rectangular brilliant-cut yellow diamond that’s almost 35 carats.
“This is a true one-of-one creation, developed from Marvel’s original creative files and brought to life through more than 150 carats of extraordinary, museum-grade natural gemstones,” Yoni Mirzoeff, vice president of East Continental Gems, said in an emailed statement to National Jeweler.
“We set out to create something that transcends traditional collectibles, an iconic piece of pop culture backed by the rarity, authenticity and intrinsic value of exceptional gemstones. Our ambition was to create nothing less than the Mona Lisa of pop culture.”
Each stone is certified and authenticated by the American Gemological Laboratories, and the yellow diamond has documentation from the Gemological Institute of America.
Christopher P. Smith, president and gemologist at AGL and a Marvel fan, said he personally oversaw the testing and reporting. He called his work on the Infinity Gauntlet “one of the highlights of my gemological career.”
“Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to see, analyze, and authenticate natural gemstones of a caliber that few people ever are able to possess,” Smith said.
“In addition, as a seasoned Marvel comic book fan—the characters and stories that molded the genre over the past several decades—to see such gems incorporated into one of Marvel's most heralded symbols and storylines merges two of my passions and in a way brought them full-circle.”
The finished Infinity Gauntlet was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, offered at the time for $25 million.
It now will be the highlight of Julien’s “Celebrity & Culture Experience” during the “Pop Culture Legends” evening sale, scheduled for Dec. 8 at Rosewood Abu Dhabi on Al Maryah Island.
“Every so often, an object comes along that doesn’t fit neatly into any one category, and those are the ones that excite us,” said Ken Citron, CEO of Julien’s Auctions.
“The Infinity Gauntlet is part fine jewelry, part tribute to the most celebrated saga in modern cinema, part cultural touchstone. Presenting it in Abu Dhabi, as part of Pop Culture Legends auction, gives it a stage worthy of what it is: a true one-of-one.”
The gauntlet will be accompanied by full gemological certification for each stone, a signed certificate of authenticity from Jim Starlin, creator of the original Marvel Comics Infinity Gauntlet storyline, and its original fitted presentation case.
Julien’s said the pre-sale estimate for the Infinity Gauntlet is available privately upon request, and bidding will require pre-approval from Julien’s Auctions.
A spokesperson from Julien's said the winning bid is expected to be "within the eight-figure mark," so between $10 million and $99 million.
Approved bidders can participate in person, by telephone, or by absentee bid.
