Dates Set for World Diamond Congress
The biennial meeting is now scheduled to happen in Mumbai this October.
Antwerp—There now are dates for the 2018 World Diamond Congress, take two.
The meeting will be held Oct. 23 to 25 in Mumbai and is being hosted by the Bharat Diamond Bourse.
The World Diamond Congress is the biennial meeting of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, which has 30 member bourses globally, and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association.
“This is a very important meeting where we will be discussing a wide range of issues facing the diamond industry worldwide,” WFDB President Ernie Blom said. “The congress serves as a critical forum for WFDB presidents and members of their delegations to take part in debates and discussions on the major subjects of the day, enabling us to receive input from the diamond trade from every corner of the world.”
Originally, the congress was set for June 19 to 21 in another major diamond trading hub, Israel, but low attendance and mounting tensions in the Middle East forced organizers to cancel the meeting.
Last month, they announced the meeting’s move to Mumbai.
