USJC to Hold Summit on Lab-Grown Diamonds
The U.S. Jewelry Council will bring representatives from across the jewelry industry together to discuss transparency and detection.
New York--Undisclosed lab-grown diamonds are a hot topic, and the jewelry industry is ready to discuss it once again.
On Nov. 1, the U.S. Jewelry Council (USJC) will hold a day-long round-table discussion on the topic, which it called “the most important consumer confidence issue,” in a press release.
The “Undisclosed Lab-Grown Diamonds: Detection and Disclosure Discussion” summit is set to take place at the Waldorf Astoria’s Starlight Roof venue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is open to the public, though seating will be limited. Registration is available online.
Guest speakers will represent several facets of the jewelry industry. Producers, manufacturers, retail jewelers and representatives from gemological laboratories will be on hand to discuss issues including transparency, the global jewelry supply chain and lab-grown diamond detection.
The summit will provide a complimentary breakfast and lunch.
Signet Jewelers is sponsoring the summit, with support from the 13 jewelry trade associations that are members of the USJC, the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association.
