JCK Magazine Moves to 4 Print Issues a Year
The publication said it is implementing a “digital-first strategy” for 2020.
New York—JCK magazine will move from seven print issues a year to four next year and direct more of its resources to digital.
JCKOnline.com reported the change in an article by News Director Rob Bates posted Thursday, linking to a statement that read in part: “The publishing industry has undergone an incredible transformation over the past 20 years, and JCK is no exception. A brand that has thrived for 150 years must continue to do so through innovation.”
Beginning in 2020, JCK magazine will publish four print issues a year: one in the spring; a pre-show issue in May; an at-show issue in June; and a fall/holiday preview.
The publication also said it will expand its digital presence, directing more resources to social media, webinars, podcasts and its daily newsletter.
“We are excited about this new chapter in our 150-year-long history,” said Mark Smelzer, publisher of JCK magazine and JCKonline. “This publication, along with the jewelry industry as a whole, has endured many changes throughout the decades. I’m energized about our new chapter as we evolve our brand to better serve the industry.”
