Yet in her research she discovered this was far from a new phenomenon. In fact, every time women were given options beyond early marriage, there was a massive social change--things like temperance, abolition and secondary education. This book takes a look at contemporary American life and how the country got to a point where only 20 percent of Americans are married by age 29. This book is 352 pages.

Zach Anner
