New York—The Jewelry History Series will once again take place alongside the Original Miami Beach Antique Show this January.
Organized by antique jewelry experts Elyse Zorn Karlin and Gail Brett Levine, the two-day educational conference includes lectures and panel discussions with experts covering a variety of topics.
The Jewelry History Series will take place Jan. 3 to 4 while The Original Miami Beach Antique Show will run Jan. 4 to 8, both at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The Friday, Jan. 3 line-up includes “Jewelry for America,” a lecture by author and curator Beth Carver Wees about the earliest jewelry worn by women in America as well as two of the most well-known American jewelers, Tiffany & Co. and Gorham.
Wees is the curator of Jewelry for America, an American jewelry exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, which is on display through April 5, 2020.
Saturday, Jan. 4, organizer and author Karlin will lead “The Jewelry and Art of Frida Kahlo,” a lecture on the Mexican artist’s work, her jewelry and the connection between the two.

“Elyse and Gail, and each of the speakers that they line up, continue to elevate the experience for this series, which is why we see the same loyal attendees who come from near and far each year to attend this event,” said Katrina Canady, show manager for U.S. Antique Shows.
In addition to the educational sessions, attendees will be given a guided tour of the Original Miami Beach Antique Show during set up on Jan. 3, the day before the show opens to the public.
