Luxenter, known for its luxury sterling collections, introduced a number of new designs, including “Rakatra" (above), a cool, studded collection set in blackened, rhodium-plated silver with onyx. No perusal of sterling silver designs would be complete without a stop at David Yurman’s booth. These colorful “Silver Ice Cushion On-Point” gemstone necklaces in sterling silver feature blue topaz, prasiolite and amethyst, each with pavé diamonds, and they will retail for $1,850, $1,450 and $1,850, respectively; DavidYurman.com
Hartmut Kraft, chief executive officer of Chronoswiss of North America, tells me that sterling silver isn’t used in watches very often because of the expense. But it sure looks great when it is used. Example: Chronoswiss’ Sirius model (above), which features a historical manually wound movement from the 1950s and is available with a stainless steel or red gold case plus a .925 solid sterling silver dial painted either white or black, and with gold-plated or blue-applied markers depending on the style.
