Virginia Jewelers Raise Nearly $26K for Children’s Hospital at Charity Ball
Nine jewelers donated jewels for a raffle to support the Children’s Hospital Foundation at Virginia Commonwealth University.

The 2024 Jewels for Children Raffle was held during the recent Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball, which benefits the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Nine family-owned, independent jewelers each donated jewelry to the auction, with each piece valued between $3,500 to $5,000.
The participating jewelers included Carreras Jewelers, Cheryl Fornash Jewelers, Cowardin’s Jewelers, Dransfield Jewelers, Fink’s Jewelers, Lustre by Adolf, Charles Schwarzschild Jewelers, Schwarzschild Jewelers, and Victoria Charles Jewelry.
All participants have donated jewelry since the raffle began in 2009.
The $25,950 raised will support the Children’s Hospital Foundation’s art and music therapy services for patients and their families.
“We are so grateful for everything all of the jewelers did to make this year so successful. We had another record-setting year! Every box had many, many tickets in it, indicating each item was highly desired,” said Emily Horne, the Children’s Hospital Foundation junior board raffle chair.
The annual Jewels for Children raffle, created and organized by Cheryl Fornash of Cheryl Fornash Jewelers, has raised more than $200,000 in support of Richmond-area nonprofit organizations since 2009.
