Maria Kotsoni Sends a Message With Her New ‘GIFY’ Collection
The 19-piece collection brings GIF reactions to life with 18-karat yellow gold, enamel, and diamonds.
After seeing how reaction GIFs are used in messages, designer Maria Kotsoni was inspired to turn them into pieces of fine jewelry.
Graphics interchange formats, commonly known as GIFs, are a type of image file that moves. They are different from videos because they are animated by layering multiple images together and do not include sound.
GIFs are often sent through text as a rection to a previous message, similar to how emojis are used.
For her GIFY collection, Kotsoni included many different types of GIFs, from exclamation marks to question marks and bang reactions.
Each piece is made of 18-karat yellow gold. Depending on the style, they include various colors of enamel and white diamonds.
GIFY is a fun collection “for those that are teens at heart,” said the brand.
The collection has 11 earrings, five necklaces, and three pendants.
It retails for $675 to $6,700 and is available for purchase on Maria Kotsoni’s website and at the Stella Flame Gallery in Bridgehampton, New York.
