Tanishq Continues U.S. Expansion With 2 New Stores
The Indian jewelry giant has opened locations in Houston and Frisco, Texas.

Its first U.S. store opened in Iselin, New Jersey, in January, with the new locations in Houston and Frisco, Texas.
The store in Frisco is over 5,000 square feet, while the Houston location spans 3,800 square feet. Both recently held inauguration events.
The stores offer more than 2,000 designs available in 18-karat gold and 22-karat gold with diamonds and colored gemstones.
Tanishq is owned by The Tata Group, a Mumbai-based multinational conglomerate that owns 30 companies across 10 categories, including Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services, Air India, and Jaguar Land Rover.
Tata Group also owns watch, jewelry, and eyewear brand Titan Company Limited, which is the parent company of Tanishq.
The nearly 30-year-old company has a “rich story” to share, said CEO Kuruvilla Markose.
In Sanskrit, “tan” means body and “nishq” means gold adornment, said Markose, and the combined word “came to signify an ornament that adds to the beauty and elegance of women.”
“As a true Tata brand, we aim to delight our customers and welcome endless visitors from all over the world to come enjoy the magic behind these designs crafted by our designers and artisans,” said Markose.
The company has been opening stores where there are large Indian-American populations, and Texas, it said, has the second-largest population of this demographic with more than 450,000 people.
"The Indian audience is spread across the United States, and [we’re expanding] in [an] effort to cater to their diverse preferences, bringing a wide range of exquisite jewelry for any occasion," said Tanishq’s Business Head of Jewelry Amrit Pal Singh.
The company operates around 410 locations, mainly in India.
