Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference to Co-Locate with New Instore Show
Organizers hope the conference, scheduled for Aug. 11-13, will encourage discussion and action around the responsible jewelry movement.
The Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference will be held Aug.11-13, 2023 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, while the new Instore Show is slated for Aug. 13-15 at the same location.
Chicago—The Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference (CRJC) will co-locate with the Instore Show this summer, holding its event in the days leading up to the new trade show.
The inaugural Instore Show is slated for Aug.13-15 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, located about 10 minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.
The CRJC will be held, in person and virtually, Aug. 11-12 at the same location, with the Responsible Gem Boutique scheduled for Aug. 13.
The boutique will allow attendees to meet with providers and distributors of a variety of colored gemstones and diamonds.
The attendance fee is $350, but those who register before March 13 get the $250 early bird price.
The co-location will further CRJC’s mission of creating a more responsible jewelry industry, said organizers, by bringing together those who create supply chains for precious metals, gemstones, and other jewelry materials.
“It is an opportunity for attendees of both shows to expand their network and their knowledge, leaving them inspired and empowered to make the jewelry industry sustainable and supply chains transparent for years to come,” said the organization.
The conference has two goals, said CRJC, to start a dialogue among participants in the supply chain and to encourage action among jewelry stakeholders.
“It’s not enough to just talk about problems; the industry must act to solve them. To date, the Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference has motivated the launch of over a dozen worldwide initiatives. By coming together to learn, we inevitably are motivated to act,” said the organization.

The Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference was founded by Susan Wheeler, as part of her nonprofit, Responsible Jewelry Transformative, which works with the jewelry industry to forward the responsible jewelry movement.
