JCK Las Vegas owner acquires JIS shows
Reed Exhibitions announced late Friday that it has bought Jewelers International Showcase, which operates the three JIS shows held each year in Miami Beach.

Norwalk, Conn.--Reed Exhibitions, operator of the JCK shows, announced late Friday that it has acquired Boca Raton, Fla.-based Jewelers International Showcase (JIS), which operates the JIS jewelry trade shows held three times a year at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jordan Tuchband, who has led the JIS event team for 10 years, will join Reed as industry vice president for JIS Events. He’ll be handling sales and marketing for the JIS shows, which will now be run from Reed’s headquarters in Norwalk.
JIS President Michael Breslow will work as a consultant to Reed.
As for the rest of the JIS employees, a Reed spokesperson said Monday morning that the company is “still working through the integration with the staff.”
Reed’s acquisition of JIS is the latest consolidation in the trade show space.
In late 2013, Reed rival Emerald Expositions, which operates Couture and the JA New York shows, announced that it was buying George Little Management LLC, or GLM, which operates more than 20 trade shows in five sectors. The deal closed in 2014.
Included in GLM’s portfolio are a number of antique jewelry shows, including the upcoming, trade-only Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show.
With the acquisition, Reed Exhibitions now operates a total of eight jewelry trade shows in the United States: Luxury Las Vegas, Swiss Watch Las Vegas, JCK Las Vegas and JCK Tucson, Luxury Privé New York and the JIS shows that take place in Miami Beach in January, April and October.
The first JIS show operated by Reed will be the show scheduled for Oct. 15 to 18 at Miami Beach Convention Center.
