Manfredi Jewels opens second location
Owner Roberto Chiappelloni said opening a store in New Canaan, Conn. not only brings him closer to many of his clients but allows him to offer a Rolex counter as well.

Greenwich, Conn.--A Connecticut independent jeweler is expanding his business and opening a second jewelry store in a nearby town, one that will carry additional high-end brands including Rolex and Leo Pizzo.
On Feb. 20, Manfredi Jewels will open its doors at 72 Elm St. in New Canaan, Conn., in a space formerly occupied by Henry C. Reid & Son Jewelers, which closed its New Canaan store but still has a store in Fairfield.
The new store is undergoing renovations to include a Rolex counter, and also will carry Baume & Mercier, Roberto Coin, Marco Bicego, Leo Pizzo and Greg Ruth, brands that aren’t carried at Manfredi’s other location in Greenwich, some 15 miles away.
“We’re so pleased after 27 years to expand our business with a new store in New Canaan,” said Manfredi Jewels owner Roberto Chiappelloni. “We hope this new location will add convenience for our existing clients in the area, and allow us the opportunity to introduce Manfredi to new customers in the community.”
Chiappelloni told National Jeweler he chose New Canaan as the location for his second store because he always liked the town and community. “When this opportunity came about, I found I could not pass it up,” he said. “The ability to open a second store and (have) Rolex as the anchor brand was such a great opportunity.”
The town also is close to many of the store’s clients, he said.
Kimberly La Du, a jewelry and watch expert, will be the managing partner of the New Canaan store along with Chiappelloni. “New Canaan needs a fine jewelry store like Manfredi and this is a perfect fit,” La Du said.
Chiappelloni said he is not planning to open any other locations at this time.
