New York--U.S. Antique Shows reported that its New York Antique Jewelry & Watch show recorded a 3 percent increase in overall attendance, as well as the highest attendee numbers in the show’s history for two of the days.
The four-day event, which was held at the Metropolitan Pavilion from July 25 to 28, achieved the highest attendance in recorded history on both Sunday, July 27 and Monday, July 28.
The show featured 120 exhibitors that displayed a wide variety of antique jewelry and watches across many eras of history, and included highly sought-after pieces from well-known brands such as Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston and more.
“There has been a renewed interest in estate jewelry (at the show),” said Hugo Foutermann of Windsor Jewelers. “The American market seems to be getting stronger and stronger.”
According to show management, many of the exhibitors reported sales of their best pieces at great prices.
“We’re thrilled that the New York Antique Jewelry & Watch Show was a huge success. The show floor was filled with serious buyers and many of the clientele were new, first-time attendees to the show,” said Dan Darby, Emerald Expositions vice president and U.S. Antique Shows general manager. “Our dealers have shared with us that many of their best pieces sold at excellent prices.”
U.S. Antique Shows currently produces nine shows nationally. The next scheduled show will be the Miami Antique Jewelry & Watch Show, held from Nov. 7 to 9 at the Miami Airport Convention Center, which is a new location for the show this year.
U.S. Antique Shows is part of Emerald Expositions, which also owns National Jeweler and the JA New York and Couture shows.
