6 trends that ruled in Arizona
Blue and pink hues took over Tucson during the gem shows earlier this month, while the jewelry at Centurion centered on fringe, chunky gold styles and the geometric shapes of decades past.

Tucson, Ariz.--During the first week of February, fine jewelry and gemstones took over two cities in Arizona--with the gem shows scattered across Tucson and the Centurion show in Scottsdale--highlighting the trends in finished jewels and colored stones that will be seen throughout 2015.
In Tucson, pinks and blues popped at the AGTA GemFair, JCK Tucson, and GJX, with both morganite and sapphire as two of the standout stones.
In addition to the classic blue hue of the sapphire, there was a strong showing from blue opals, larimar, topaz, tanzanite, as well as the rainbow shades of sapphire, particularly the pink hues.
Meanwhile, finished jewelry in Scottsdale flashed back to the 70s and 80s; fine jewelry was playing off the looks of decades past, including chunky yellow gold pieces, fringe and geometric shapes.
Longer necklaces also were en vogue in Arizona, helped along by the recent layering and stacking trends that are prominent in jewelry.
