Appraisal conference in Tucson slated for Feb. 2-3
The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA) has announced the lineup for its 41st annual Winter ACE It Education Conference, to be held in Tucson on Feb. 2 and 3.
Tucson, Ariz.--The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA) has announced the lineup for its 41st annual Winter ACE It Education Conference, to be held in Tucson on Feb. 2 and 3.
NAJA Executive Director Gail Brett Levine will deliver opening remarks at 8 a.m. on both days for the conference, which is taking place in the Maricopa Room of the Tucson Convention Center. The sessions as as follows.
Sunday, Feb. 2
--8:15 a.m., Helen Serras-Herman, “Exotic Common Opals”
--10:15 a.m., Sindi Schloss, “Lions, Tigers and Hairs, Oh My! Exotic Organics in Jewelry”
--1:30 p.m., Edward Boehm, “Gems on the Go: Tips from the Field”
--3 p.m., Tino Hammond, “Gem Photography vs. Reality”
Monday, Feb. 3
--8:15 a.m., Martin Fuller, “The Many Faces of Value”
--10:15 a.m., Patrick Coughlin, “Discovering, Marketing and Branding a Gemstone”
--1:30 p.m., Gary Bowersox , “What it Takes to be a Gem Hunter”
--3 p.m., Arthur Skuratowicz, “How Much is that Bauble in the Window?”
NAJA also is offering the pre-conference Emerald Treatments & Pricing Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 1, to members only. It will address information on identification issues, examination of treated emeralds and major considerations for pricing accurately.
