2017 Gem Awards Now Open for Submissions
Jewelers of America is accepting nominations for its annual jewelry industry awards in five categories, including the new “Influencer of the Year".

New York--It’s that time of year again.
Jewelers of America is now accepting nominations for its annual Gem Awards.
There will be a total of three nominees across five categories: Jewelry Design, Marketing & Communications, Media Excellence, Watch Excellence and the newly established Influencer of the Year award, targeted toward bloggers and social media personalities.
Gem Awards Chair Norman Miller said, “With the addition of a dedicated Watch category last year and the Influencer of the Year Award this year, the Gem Awards are evolving to include areas that greatly influence consumer awareness and desire for fine jewelry and watches. We have many exciting announcements to come and are looking forward to seeing the quality, diversity and depth of the nominations this year.”
The Gem Awards honor individuals and brands that reflect outstanding work in the fine jewelry and watch arenas, increasing the visibility of these industries.
Besides the awarded categories, one individual will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2016, the recipient was watch industry media veteran Joe Thompson.
Last year’s other winners were Temple St. Clair, Cartier and Rob Bates.
Now in its 15th year, the 2017 Gem Awards gala will take place on Jan. 13 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York, where winners will be announced live.
The Gem Awards will be open for submissions through June 30. Nominations can be made on JA’s website, Jewelers.org.
