3-Carat ‘Bubble Gum Pink’ Diamond Could Sell for $8M
Set in a ring by Moussaieff, the piece will lead Christie’s May 28 jewelry auction in Hong Kong.
This 3.44-carat fancy vivid purplish-pink diamond, dubbed the “Bubble Gum Pink,” could sell for between $6-$8 million at Christie’s Hong Kong jewelry auction on May 28.
Hong Kong—A 3.44-carat fancy vivid purplish-pink modified brilliant-cut diamond could garner as much as $8 million at a Hong Kong jewelry auction next week.
The “Bubble Gum Pink,” set in a ring by Moussaieff and surrounded by pear-shaped pink and marquise-cut white diamonds, is expected to be the top lot of Christie’s “Magnificent Jewels” auction on May 28.
The jewelry auction features more than 260 lots of rare jewels, including an exceptional 3.01-carat fancy vivid blue VS1 diamond expected to sell for between $4.7-$7 million.
Also heading to the auction block are several exceptional gemstone and jadeite pieces.
“Grand Muzos,” pictured below, is a pair of earrings featuring 23.34-carat and 23.18-carat Colombian no-oil emeralds, accented with pearls and brilliant-cut diamonds (3.01 carats each) in platinum. 
Named for Muzo, the legendary source of Colombian emeralds, the earrings are expected to sell for between $3.8-$6.5 million.
Also included in the jewelry auction is a 26.41-carat Kashmir no-heat sapphire brooch, expected to go for between $4 million and $6.5 million; a jadeite bead necklace expected to sell in the range of $2 million to $3.2 million; and a jadeite cabochon ring that could go for between $580,000-$800,000.
“Magnificent Jewels” also features several signed pieces.
The Bulgari necklace seen below is a set with a 11.69-carat pear-shaped F, IF diamond and a 1.02-carat fancy vivid green-blue diamond. It is estimated to sell for $1.6-$2.3 million. 
A Harry Winston necklace featuring circular, baguette, marquise and pear-shaped diamonds in platinum and gold is estimated to sell for $150,000 to $230,000.
