Diamond lots to top Christie’s October sale
A necklace set with a 81.38-carat rectangular-cut potentially internally flawless diamond is expected to sell for as much as $3.5 million at Christie’s later this month in an auction that will include an online-only portion.
Christie’s sale of “Important Jewels,” set for Oct. 22 in New York, includes “Brilliant Jewels,” an online-only sale scheduled to take place Oct. 14 to 28 on the auction house’s website.
The 350-lot sale on Oct. 22 is expected to achieve more than $30 million. Colored and colorless diamonds as well as rare gemstones and signed jewels are projected to lead the sale. Additional information can be found on Christie’s website.

The opening of the fall sale season follows a strong first half of the year for the auction house. Christie’s international jewelry department recorded its highest-ever half-year result through the first six months of the year, with sales totaling $362 million and eight new world auction records set.
