Piece of the Week: Assael’s Angel Skin Coral Earrings
An unexpected color combination makes for a fresh coral jewelry look.

It’s not often that coral jewelry feels fresh and modern, but Assael, purveyor of ethically- and legally-sourced pearl and coral jewelry, has given the material just the creative update it needs in these piece of the week earrings.
They feature Angel Skin coral, a rare variety of the material from Japan that has been unavailable on the market for decades, according to the brand. Assael recently acquired a vintage supply of the material, harvested before 1980.
These natural Angel Skin coral drops measure 31 by 14 millimeters and are the perfect contrast to trillion-cut green Grossular garnets from Tanzania, weighing 11.59 carats. They’re set in a flattering 18-karat rose gold and diamond pave design that snakes its way provocatively around the gemstones.
The earrings retail for $105,000.
Interested buyers can contact Assael via its website or at (212) 819-0060.
