Piece of the Week: Ioanna Souflia’s ‘Adieu’ Necklace
The Greek designer pushes the boundaries of fine jewelry with her incorporation of unexpected materials.

Ioanna Souflia enlists the usual suspects in her fine jewelry portfolio--14- and 18-karat gold, rhodium and gray and white diamonds--with one notable exception: marble.
The Greek designer, who studied in London at Central Saint Martins and lives in Paris, has made a name for herself with her inventive incorporation of the medium, which blurs the line between sculpture and jewelry.
Should there be any doubt that Souflia’s work is decidedly fine in nature, look no further than the “Adieu” necklace.
Made of hand-carved Thasos marble sourced from Greece, Bardiglio Imperiale marble sourced from Italy, round brilliant gray diamonds and 14-karat rose gold, the “Adieu” necklace is a fine example of outside-the-box, contemporary luxury.
It retails at ModaOperandi.com for $9,280.
