Gold Spotlight: Doryn Wallach
Doryn Wallach spent nearly two decades as an interior designer before she turned her focus to jewelry.

A wallpaper design from the Art Deco period inspired Wallach to create the Scale collection, which offers “feminine, curvilinear, sinuous patterns that resemble the scales on a fish,” she says.
Doryn Wallach spent nearly two decades as an interior designer before she turned her focus to jewelry.
“My main goal as an interior designer was to create unique and beautiful spaces that could last a lifetime, and I’ve held onto that goal as I’ve started making jewelry,” she said. “Designing interior spaces gave me the chance to test out my aesthetic in a large, interactive way. Now I can take that design sense and bring it down to the personal space and use form and function to define a woman’s own style.”

These 18-karat satin yellow gold Scale earrings offer white diamond pavé ($4,620).
The Scale station chain is made in 18-karat satin yellow gold with reversible black and white diamond pavé-set stations ($14,000).
From the Greek Key collection, this 18-karat satin yellow gold Greek Key band is set with 0.30 carats of diamond pavé ($3,300).
Hollywood Regency architecture and interior design has been a major inspiration in Wallach’s interior design work, and it spilled over into her Greek Key jewelry collection.

From the Screen collection, this 18-karat satin yellow gold cuff is set with 1.05 carats of diamond pavé ($11,000).
The pieces in Wallach’s Screen collection combine the visual intensity of geometric shapes with more feminine curved lines, originally inspired by a fireplace screen the designer saw during her travels.

The 18-karat satin yellow gold Screen band is set with 0.24 carats of white diamond pavé ($3,740).
“I especially like designing rings,” Wallach says. “Today, especially, people notice your rings before anything else, perhaps because we so often have our phones in our hands. There are stories behind the rings … and the memory is reignited every time you catch a glimpse of your hands.”
The “Gladiator” statement rings are made in 18-karat satin yellow gold with bezel-set white ($8,800) or black diamonds ($3,600).
This 18-karat satin yellow gold ring holds a one-of-a-kind, large emerald-cut onyx marble-veined agate set with 0.22 carats of diamond pavé ($7,900).
Wallach says her statement pieces are “inspired by classic shapes from beautiful items in a captivating home … hand-crafted ladder-back chairs, marble and onyx countertops, octagonal doorknobs and exquisite powder boxes.”
