Pantone announces the shades of spring
Ten hues that will be prominent in fashion and other industries next spring have been identified by the Pantone Color Institute.
Pantone releases two Fashion Color Reports a year, each coinciding with New York Fashion Week. The annual February report predicts the colors for autumn, while September’s list names the hues for the following spring.
The top colors for spring 2015 as defined by Pantone are Aquamarine, Scuba Blue, Lucite Green, Classic Blue, Toasted Almond, Strawberry Ice, Tangerine, Custard, Marsala and Glacier Gray.
“This season there is a move toward the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director at the Pantone Color Institute. “An eclectic, ethereal mix of understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals take center stage as designers draw from daydreams of simpler times.”
