Vacheron Constantin to lead Antiquorum sale
A rare Vacheron Constantin Ref. 4261 with a two-tone silver dial is expected to sell for as much as $204,700 at Antiquorum’s March 16 sale at the Mandarin Oriental in Geneva.
Produced in 1945 and consigned by the family of the original owner, the minute-repeater “is among the finest of the legendary reference 4261s to be offered at auction,” Antiquorum said.
No more than 10 examples of this model, which has a 13-inch caliber movement without subsidiary seconds, exist.
The March auction, a continuation of Antiquorum’s year-long celebration of its 40th anniversary, will also offer never-before-seen and exceptionally rare timepieces. Lots from Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Rolex are part of the sale.
