Commemorative Patek Philippe to top Hong Kong sale
A limited-edition Patek Philippe Ref. 5029 made in platinum is expected to sell for about $593,400 at Antiquorum’s June 28 sale in Hong Kong.
The wristwatch, made in a limited edition of 10 pieces in 1997, was created to commemorate the inauguration of the new Patek Philippe factory in Geneva. It features a platinum Patek Philippe buckle, and will be sold with an extract from the archives and commemorative medal.
Antiquorum’s Important Modern and Vintage Timepieces sale will be held at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong, and will offer a total of 532 lots.
While various examples from Patek Philippe are expected to be the top four lots of the auction, wristwatches from Girard Perregaux and Rolex also are expected to stay within the top 10. An extremely rare musical clock believed to be made in the Guangzhou workshop in China is also included in the sale.
