Alrosa Renaming Its Foreign Trading Organizations
Right now, they operate under the name of ARCOS, but will be rebranded as Alrosa.
Moscow--Diamond mining company Alrosa is changing the name of its foreign-based trading subsidiaries and affiliates in the United States and elsewhere from ARCOS to Alrosa.
Since 1993, the once-Alrosa-owned ARCOS (Anglo-Russian Cooperative Society) Ltd. has been a trading company that supplies equipment to the diamond industry.
It also was the name Alrosa used for its regional trading and marketing offices, e.g., ARCOS USA, ARCOS Hong Kong, ARCOS Diamonds Israel, etc.
Then this year Alrosa sold ARCOS and subsequently lost the right to use the name. So, now those offices will be branded Alrosa, along with the name of their location, like Alrosa USA.
The diamond miner said it expects the rebranding effort to take about four months.
