Borsheims’ Longtime Security Director to Retire
With Mike Noyes’ departure at the end of the year, Kyle Slosson has been promoted to security manager.
Omaha, Neb.—Borsheims’ longtime Director of Security Mike Noyes has announced he will retire at the end of the year.
Noyes has led security efforts at Borsheims for 23 years, operating under the belief that “good safety and security practices are never convenient,” the retailer said.
Noyes joined Borsheims after a 20-year military career, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army.
He has a degree in law enforcement administration and has taken a number of professional development courses in law enforcement, security and counterintelligence. Borsheims described Noyes as being “tenacious” in his efforts to improve its culture regarding safety and security.
The retailer said in addition to developing policies and procedures, Noyes also cultivated a team of more than 100 security officers during his career, many of whom have moved on to jobs in law enforcement, private security or public administration.
He also served as a chairman of the Omaha chapter of the American Society of Industrial Security and was a member of the Jewelers Security Alliance.
“We are a better organization, a better team, working in a safer and more secure workplace because of Mike’s guidance and influence,” Borsheims President and CEO Karen Goracke said.
Noyes’ retirement plans include spending more time with his wife of 38 years, his four sons and other family.
With Noyes’ departure, Kyle Slosson has been promoted to security manager.
Slosson joined Borsheims in 2007 as a security officer. He was promoted to senior security officer in 2011 and security supervisor in 2014.
He has an associate’s degree in criminal justice and a bachelor’s degree in security management.
