Diamonds Direct Acquires 4 More Stores
The Charlotte-based jewelry retailer now has a total of 14 locations.

Charlotte, N.C.--Diamonds Direct has acquired both Distinctive Diamonds and Global Diamonds, giving the Charlotte-based jewelry retail chain a total of 14 locations.
Headed by President and co-owner Eli Benisty, Distinctive Diamonds opened its first store in Indianapolis in 2002 and its second store in St. Louis in 2015.
Its sister company, Global Diamonds, has stores in Jacksonville, Florida and Salt Lake City, which opened in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
All four stores will continue to operate under their current brand names, for now: Distinctive Diamonds in Indianapolis and St. Louis and Global Diamonds in Jacksonville and Salt Lake.
The staff at all four stores will be merging with employees of Diamonds Direct, with an immediate focus on “adopting the Diamonds Direct way,” the company said.
The acquisition of Distinctive Diamonds and Global Diamonds comes less than a year after the company announced that it was buying Dallas retailer Diamond Doctor, which now operates as a Diamonds Direct store.
Diamonds Direct ranked No. 44 on National Jeweler’s 2016 list of North America’s largest 50 jewelry retailers, which is based on store count as of the end of 2015.
Diamonds Direct had nine stores then. With these latest acquisitions, the company now has a total of 14, which would place it at No. 40 on the list.
The chain, which was founded in 1995, is headed by President Itay Berger.
