Ransom & Randolph Launches Two-Part Casting System
The Ohio-based company has introduced the Plasticast PT investment and binder, a new two-part system for casting rapid prototype pattern materials and high temperature alloys.

Maumee, Ohio--Ransom & Randolph has introduced the Plasticast PT investment and binder, a new two-part system for casting rapid prototype pattern materials and high temperature alloys.
It was developed for the investing and burnout of commonly used plastic or wax/plastic pattern materials.
The high expansion of these pattern materials requires an equally high expanding, extra high strength investment, and the Plasticast PT system is meant to provide jewelry casters with a mold material that meets those demands while also maintaining mold surface and dimensional integrity for high temperature metal casting, Ransom & Randolph said.
It also can be used with standard wax patterns for high temperature metal casting.
The company also noted that the two-part system offers additional benefits--it eliminates the acid-based binder hazard associated with common two-part platinum investments and the special investing flask preparation requirements.
The new system can be ordered through Ransom & Randolph’s authorized dealers. For a list of local dealers, visit the company’s website or contact customer service at 800-253-4502.
Founded in 1872, Ransom & Randolph is dedicated to advancing the investment casting industry, with a core business comprised of ceramic shell investment casting, industrial mold investment casting, jewelry investment casting and dental investment casting.
