Katherine Palmer Andrews is now the vice president of ethics and compliance at the Gemological Institute of America, a newly created position that will require her to work with senior management to ensure the integrity of the organization’s compliance and ethics programs.
A lawyer by trade, Andrews comes to the GIA with experience from the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, in private practice and as an in-house attorney for GE Energy, where she led the global compliance team for five years. She also worked with Thompson Reuters, where she developed an enterprise-wide compliance program.
A founding member of the Chief Compliance Officers Forum in Atlanta, Andrews also is a board member of the Georgia Bar Antitrust Section.

Nancy Robey has been named brand ambassador of Jewelers Unblocked and will seek opportunities to expand the company’s brand awareness within the luxury jewelry marketplace.
Robey is the founder and owner of the Nancy Robey Partnership Inc. and is credited with the creation of the Couture show in 1995. She also has served as a vice president and board member of associations within the industry, including the Women’s Jewelry Association and Jewelers for Children.

The executive officers are David Shara of Optimum Diamonds; Sean Moore of Borsheims; and Brian Denney of Denney Jewelers.
The NCDIA also announced the creation of new committees: the Educational Committee, chaired by Bronstein and Shara; the Legal & Finance Committee, chaired by Post; the Membership Committee, chaired by Wittrock; and the Marketing Committee, chaired by Fine.

She will report to Frederic Cumenal, who will become CEO of Tiffany effective April 1 when Mike Kowalski retires. Beraud’s appointment is effective Oct. 13.
Beraud most recently was CEO of Living Proof, and prior to that held senior-level executive and marketing roles at PepsiCo Inc., L Brands Inc. and Procter & Gamble Co.

Frederick Goldman Inc. has appointed Robin Scheer Ettinger as chief marketing officer and Ruben Luna as senior vice president of merchandising.
Ettinger most recently was the vice president of marketing for the Americas at eyewear company Safilo, where she directed all marketing and licensing activities for more than 25 luxury and fashion brands and coordinated brand strategies throughout the Americas. Prior to that, she held marketing positions at companies including Godiva, Liz Claiborne and Montblanc.
Ruben was the general manager of product design at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s multi-channel merchandise and retail division, where he built and led the new product design department. He also has held several product development, design and merchandising roles at HSN, Movado Group and May Merchandising Company.
