Hamilton Jewelers Honored for Legacy of Service
Denise and Martin Siegel were recognized for their service to Greenwood House, a senior care center in New Jersey.

Trenton, N.J.— The family behind Hamilton Jewelers has long been committed to giving back to its community, and last weekend, a community institution showed its gratitude.
Irving Siegel purchased Hamilton Jewelers of Trenton, New Jersey, in 1927, keeping the store afloat through hardships, including the Great Depression and a devastating fire.
“I believe a man is measured by the legacy that he leaves to his family, his friends, and his community,” Siegel was quoted as saying on the store’s website.
“Being a good citizen, a fair merchant, and a supportive civic member… These are the pillars that I hope to have imparted to our business.”
Siegel’s commitment to community lives on through his family. His son, Martin Siegel, joined the family business in 1955 and went on to oversee the store with his wife, Denise.
New Jersey senior living and care facility Greenwood House honored Denise and Martin Siegel at a charity gala last weekend for their years of support to the care center.
The facility, which follows Jewish traditions, caters to the needs of seniors through nursing, rehabilitation, home care, and hospice.
It also provides meals-on-wheels service throughout central New Jersey and nearby Bucks County in Pennsylvania.
The Siegel family has been involved with Greenwood House since its founding in 1939. Martin’s mother, Alice, was one of the organization’s first volunteers.
Diane Siegel chaired its first charity gala more than 25 years ago and previously served as a board member, as did her son Hank Siegel, current president of Hamilton Jewelers.
The Siegels’ grandchildren also lend a helping hand as Greenwood House volunteers.
The gala was held in Princeton, New Jersey, at the Hyatt Regency, featuring comedienne Susie Essman of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
Denise and Martin Seigel accepted the award and reiterated their commitment to raising awareness of the work done by Greenwood House.
