At Borsheims, It Was Like a Zoo
The Nebraska retailer recently held its annual fundraising event to benefit the local zoo, treating customers to jewelry and animals alike.
Omaha, Neb.--It was like a zoo, literally, inside Omaha, Nebraska jewelry store Borsheims last Thursday.
That day, the company was holding its annual fundraiser for the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in Omaha, which is looking to raise money this year for its new Asian Highlands exhibit.
It brought almost a dozen animal ambassadors from the Omaha zoo--and their handlers--to interact with Borsheims customers and zoo supporters.
Attendees got the chance to learn about and touch snakes, exotic birds, lizards, a tortoise and an opossum as well as enjoy snacks and drinks.
And they were, of course, able to shop the store’s selection of jewelry, watches and fine gifts, including several animal-themed jewelry pieces.
A portion of all sales of the retailer’s exclusive Kalahari Dream Diamond collection, Signature Diamond collection and lab-grown diamond collection made during the day were donated to the zoo for its exhibit.
Borsheims is part of Berkshire Hathaway, the holding company chaired by billionaire investor Warren Buffett.
