Fuli Gemstones Introduces ‘Beidou Cut’
The miner’s new peridot cut will debut at the upcoming Hong Kong jewelry trade show.

It was inspired by the stars in the night sky and named for the Big Dipper asterism, which ancient Chinese astronomers named “Beidou.”
The asterism is composed of the seven brightest stars in the Ursa Major constellation and historically was used in celestial navigation to locate the North Star, Fuli said.
A nod to these stars, the new “Beidou” cut has seven sides.
It features 85 facets, with 28 facets on the crown (top half of the stone) and 49 facets on the pavilion (lower half of the stone).
The cut also has a girdle with 7 facets, plus the table.
Pia Tonna, executive director and chief marketing officer for Fuli Gemstones said, “Pushing the boundaries is a characteristic of Fuli; always expect the unexpected. We delight in newness.”
The miner will be showcasing the new cut at the upcoming Jewellery & Gem World Hong Kong show, which will take place Sept. 16-20 at AsiaWorld-Expo.
Fuli Gemstones will be located at booth LO6 in Hall 10 of the ICA Pavilion.
