Stanley Jewelers’ Stephen Stanley Dies at 44
The Little Rock, Ark. native worked in his family’s jewelry store and loved dogs, NASCAR and spending time with his friends.
Little Rock, Ark.--Stephen Loyd Stanley, a member of the family that operated independent jeweler Stanley Jewelers Gemologist, died April 11 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital.
He was 44.
Born March 19, 1973, Stanley grew up in Little Rock and loved the city’s Hillcrest neighborhood in particular.
He trained in gunsmithing at the Colorado School of Trade and worked on and off at his family’s store throughout his life, selling jewelry and working on watches.
Outside of work, Stanley loved dogs--he fostered and adopted several--NASCAR and spending time with his friends.
He also loved anything with a motor, including Ford Mustangs like his beautiful blue Shelby, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Stanley is survived by his father, Loyd Stanley, and his father’s wife, Kaye; and two sisters, Laura Stanley and her husband, Henry J. Mroczkowski, and Caroline Stanley and her husband, Dennis Nakasone, and their two children.
He was a great friend to many people and he will be missed.
Services took place April 14 at the North Little Rock Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Humane Society of Pulaski County or the Arkansas Department of Correction’s Paws in Prison program in which select inmates train rescue dogs, making the dogs more adoptable and giving the inmates skills to support their rehabilitation and eventual re-entry into society.
