New York—It’s a match made in LVMH heaven.

Tiffany & Co. has joined forces with German luggage brand Rimowa on a capsule collection of cases.

LVMH owns both luxury companies.

Rimowa was founded in 1898 and debuted its signature aviation-inspired aluminum suitcases in 1937. In 2000, it innovated the luggage industry once again with a polycarbonate suitcase.

LVMH acquired the brand in 2017, helping it launch a collection of bags for daily use, called “Never Still,” in 2020.

The luxury conglomerate acquired Tiffany & Co. in 2021 and has helped modernize the brand through new product launches and buzzy marketing in addition to restoration of the brand’s heritage, as with the remodel of the New York City flagship completed this year.

There are three items in the Tiffany and Rimowa collaboration: a suitcase, a jewelry case, and a smaller jewelry case called the “jewelry personal.”

The “Rimowa x Tiffany & Co. Rock Cut Cabin” suitcase adapts the luggagemaker’s signature grooved aluminum surface to resemble a diamond’s facets. The geometric pattern incorporates Tiffany’s “T” motif throughout.

The handles, luggage tag, and wheels are crafted in Tiffany Blue, as is the interior.

The “Rimowa x Tiffany & Co. Jewelry Case” features the same “rock cut” design as the suitcase. Designed for jewelry storage, while on the go or at home, the case has three levels and a mirror.

The top sealed tray has five compartments for rings and other jewelry items. The middle tray is intended for necklaces and bracelets, while the lowest tray has three large compartments.

The jewelry case’s interior is rendered in Tiffany Blue.

The “Rimowa x Tiffany & Co. Jewelry Personal,” takes Tiffany Blue to the next level, however, with the polycarbonate exterior crafted entirely in the shade.

The smallest item of the three-piece assortment, it has six jewelry compartments for safekeeping during travel.

“We are proud to join forces with Tiffany & Co., another legendary brand with the finest craftsmanship,” said Rimowa CEO Hugues Bonnet-Masimbert.

“The creation of such purposeful and one-of-kind pieces represents the centuries of expertise behind both brands and the mastery of engineering that we bring to the table.

Tiffany & Co. Executive Vice President of Product and Communication, Alexandre Arnault, added, “We are thrilled to debut the Rimowa x Tiffany collection, bringing together two maisons with unmatched craftsmanship and innovative designs.

“This one-of-a-kind collaboration unifies two icons in one, both of which are incredibly personal to me and represent the highest caliber of craftsmanship.”

The suitcase will retail for €2,900, or approximately $3,097 per current exchange rates. The jewelry case will retail for €3,900 ($4,165), and the jewelry personal case for €1,800 ($1,922).

The collection is out Sept. 26 at Rimowa stores and Rimowa.com. It will also be available at the Tiffany & Co. Landmark in New York City and on Tiffany.com in China via WeChat.
