Former Nike Executive Joins Team at David Yurman
Marcelo Tau is the company’s new chief operations officer.
David Yurman has appointed Marcelo Tau, a former Nike executive, as its new chief operations officer.
New York—David Yurman has hired a new chief operations officer, appointing former Nike executive Marcelo Tau to the role.
Tau will be responsible for the jewelry company’s supply chain, technology, and real estate operations. He is tasked with overseeing brand growth, global retail expansion, product innovation and execution, and digital transformation.
Ruth Sommers was the company’s previous COO, serving in the role from 2012 to 2017.
Prior to joining David Yurman, Tau was the vice president and head of strategy for Global Operations & Technology at Nike, leading the company’s operational strategies across sourcing and manufacturing, logistics, sustainability, procurement and technology.
Tau also worked as a partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group.

Evan Yurman, who took over as company president last November, welcomed Tau to the team.

Tau’s hiring marks the second under Evan Yurman as he continues to grow his executive team.
The company appointed former McKinsey & Company executive Emily Yueh as its new chief of people and strategy last month.
