New York—New York City Jewelry Week boasted an impressive lineup of education and cultural events at its inaugural edition held late last year, and the second iteration promises to be even better.
Returning November 18 to 24, 2019, the consumer-facing week-long array of jewelry events will hold many of its free jewelry talks and lectures at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Cooper Hewitt is the official museum partner this year and will also host much of the programming, while the Museum of Arts and Design will host an event related to its upcoming “Greek Jewels” exhibition, supporting NYCJW’s commitment this year to highlighting international artists, according to the programmers.
Returning partners include Bergdorf Goodman, which will host a cocktail event in addition to other activations in their fine jewelry salon, gallery Salon 94, which will present an exhibition of works from designer Karl Fritsch, and the 92nd St Y, which will have a new exhibition curated by Jonathan Wahl, director of its Jewelry Center, and editor and author Marion Fasel on view.
“New York City’s jewelry industry is one of the most successful in the world, and we’re proud to offer the public an exclusive look at its inner workings,” said Bella Neyman and JB Jones, NYCJW co-founders, in a press release. “This week couldn’t exist without the help of our partners, and we’re thrilled to expand upon last year’s success.”
