JA Holds ‘Wear One’ For Third Time
The now-annual event brings Jewelers of America retail members together with designers so jewelers can learn about the inspiration behind the designs.

New York--Jewelers of America held its “Wear One” event for the third time, bringing its retail members together with designers so the jewelers can learn more about the inspiration behind the designs.
The event, which took place July 23 at the Yale Club in New York, featured eight different designers/brands, all of which are JA supplier members: Christopher Designs, the Cultured Pearl Association of America, Drukker Designs, Leo Ingwer, Lilly Street, Scott West for L.J. West Diamonds, Rio Diamond Manufacturing Corp. and Spencer Fine Jewelry.
In addition, there was a raffle for a painting by Angie Crabtree. The San Francisco-based artist is known for her diamond paintings, which realistically portray the stone’s facets magnified 1,000 times.
Catherine and Peter Manka Jr. of Ben Garelick Jewelers in Williamsville, N.Y., took home the Crabtree original, a hand-finished print on canvas of an Asscher-cut diamond.

Wear One was open only to JA retail members and press. Synchrony Financial, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co. and United Precious Metal Refining Inc. sponsored the event.
