Former JIC Head, Industry Journalist Steffan Aletti Dies
He held a number of roles in the industry, including at MJSA and the International Colored Gemstone Association.

New York--Steffan Aletti, the former industry journalist who also headed the Jewelry Information Center at one time, died May 30. He had been in declining health for some years.
Online reports indicate that he was 74 years old.
Aletti studied music and fine arts at Syracuse University and was a music and opera expert.
He held a number of roles in the jewelry industry over the course of his career, including almost two decades as an editor at American Jewelry Manufacturer magazine (now known as MJSA Journal), director of communications for MJSA, president of the Jewelry Information Center (which would later become a part of Jewelers of America) and director of communications for the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA).
He also had his own company, Aletti Communications, which created brochures, newsletters and campaigns for jewelry companies.
Aletti was inducted into the 24 Karat Club of New York in 1989. A skilled photographer, he took photos for the club’s outing and events for a number of years.
Additionally, he was a member of the New York Athletic Club, and wrote and published science fiction and horror stories.
