Second ‘JFC Day’ Planned for September
The event allows supporters nationwide to raise visibility and funds for the charity.

New York—Jewelers for Children has scheduled the second annual JFC Day for Saturday, Sept. 28.
JFC Day is a day for all supporters of the charity that helps children in need to raise both visibility and funds for JFC.
The idea for the event came from Steven Vardi, a JFC board member who helped develop the concept alongside JFC’s marketing committee.
During the inaugural JFC Day in 2018, retailers across the country ran promotions in their stores to celebrate the funds that have been raised for the organization so far. Participating companies included Reeds Jewelers, Day’s Jewelers, Tiny Jewel Box, Richline Group and Howard’s Jewelry Center.
Charity partners also asked their local supporters to visit jewelers and thank them for their contributions. An effort spearheaded by the National CASA/GAL Association produced a thank you card and script for their supporters to use.
Everyone is invited to participate in JFC Day.
Suppliers can reach out to their retail customers and ask them to participate, while retailers are asked to reach out to their customers to educate them about JFC and invite them to participate in whatever activity the store might have planned for Sept. 28.
All will be asked to use their social media channels to promote the day, especially on the day of, to encourage nationwide exposure and participation.
JFC said it will provide participants with materials to make promotion easy. Support will include trade ads, sample social media, customer communications and in-store signage.
The JFC website also has suggestions for programs and collateral material that can be downloaded and customized.
Companies interested in participating in JFC Day can sign up at JewelersForChildren.org or contact JFC at 212-687-2949 or info@jewelersforchildren.org.
