There are certain pieces in a jewelry display case that will always catch my eye.
I love bright orange gemstones, marquise diamonds, and baroque pearls, but I especially adore animal jewelry. If you’ve got a snake bracelet, a bird brooch, or a bug ring, there’s a good chance I’ll be asking to see it.
I have a soft spot for animals, from my dainty tuxedo cat Stormy to my gentle giant pit bull Rock, and beautiful jewelry brings me joy. Seeing my two loves collide never gets old.

Majestic Beasts
I love bright orange gemstones, marquise diamonds, and baroque pearls, but I especially adore animal jewelry. If you’ve got a snake bracelet, a bird brooch, or a bug ring, there’s a good chance I’ll be asking to see it.

Majestic Beasts
This David Webb monkey brooch is wearing its own jewelry! The brooch is crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and platinum with brilliant-cut diamonds, cabochon rubies, and blue and white enamel detailing, courtesy of Yafa Signed Jewels.
To call this a cat fight would be an understatement. These two lions with diamond eyes are battling it out on an 18-karat yellow gold David Webb bracelet, courtesy of Windsor Jewelers, Inc.
This Van Cleef & Arpels polar bear watch takes icy to the next level. It’s crafted in platinum and 18-karat white gold with carved mother-of-pearl and diamonds, courtesy of Windsor Jewelers, Inc.
Hippos don’t get enough jewelry love, but David Webb does them justice here. This 18-karat yellow gold repoussé hippopotamus cuff bracelet has cabochon ruby eyes, courtesy of Yafa Signed Jewels.
This adorable hedgehog has a name, dubbed “Chia Pierre.” Crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and set with inverted green diamonds, he was created by Brooklyn-based designers Lauren Newton and Tamsin Rasor ($6,560).
Raining Cats and Dogs
All dogs should be treated this well, crown and all! This 18-karat yellow gold sapphire and diamond dog brooch is by Tiffany & Co., courtesy of Windsor Jewelers, Inc.
This brooch is a lovely tribute to the St. Bernard, a breed known for its wintry rescues and slobbery kisses. This Van Cleef & Arpels brooch, circa 1980, is crafted in platinum and 18-karat yellow gold with brilliant-cut diamonds, rubies, and black onyx, courtesy of Yafa Signed Jewels.
This lucky cat waves in good fortune. This is Xiao Wang Jewelry’s “Lucky Cat Snow Globe” pendant in 14-karat yellow gold with diamond accents ($2,936 with 16” chain).
Fancy Fish
This ring was inspired by the elusive pipe fish, a tiny and curious little guy in the same family as seahorses and seadragons. The Emily P. Wheeler pipe fish ring is crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and set with black and white diamonds with emerald eyes ($24,000).
These colorful fish studs are swimming straight into summer fun! These Emily P. Wheeler fish studs are crafted in 18-karat yellow gold with chrysoprase, sugilite, and turquoise ($3,400).
Creepy Crawlies
Paspaley created this one-of-a-kind Cicada collier, crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and featuring a 7 mm Australian South Sea top-drop pearl embedded with pink sapphires and diamonds. Its wings, set with mother-of-pearl, rubellite, pink tourmaline, pink sapphire, pink opal, white crystal opal, rainbow moonstone, and white diamonds, open when the wearer pushes the trilliant-cut rubellite. ($194,000)
This serpent ring snakes up your finger as a midi ring. The Jessica Liu Designs pavé serpent midi ring is made in 14-karat yellow gold and diamonds with tsavorite eyes ($2,940).
I loved this version of Bulgari’s “Serpenti” necklace, with the snake curled into itself like it’s taking a cozy nap. This 18-karat white gold necklace, courtesy of Yafa Signed Jewels, is set with round brilliant-cut diamonds.
This little guy packs a punch. This is Lene Vibe’s 18-karat yellow gold snail ring with diamond eyes ($1,170).
Not a lot of weevils in jewelry, until now! This Lene Vibe 18-karat yellow gold ring features two snails (at the top and bottom) and a weevil (top left) set with a 2.20-carat old mine-cut diamond in the center, with white, green, and antique diamond accents ($41,800).
