Breitling Unveils 2 New Navitimer Watches at New York Fashion Week

They feature pastel and mother-of-pearl dials and lab-grown diamond accents.

New York—After recently unveiling a limited-edition Navitimer exclusive to the United States, Breitling has launched two new versions of its classic pilot’s watch.

The Navitimer 36 and Navitimer 32 were released during New York Fashion Week, during a glitzy shindig in Manhattan with brand ambassadors Charlize Theron and ballerina Misty Copeland in attendance.

Unlike the new limited-edition watch, the latest Navitimer timepieces have a more feminine look, with pastel dials, diamond accents, and smaller 36 mm and 32 mm case sizes.

The 36 mm Navitimer features the timepiece’s classic circular slide rule, a tool used by pilots. It is powered by the Breitling Caliber 17 automatic self-winding movement with hour, minute, and second display.

The stainless steel watch is available with a mint green, silver, or anthracite dial that can be worn on a stainless steel seven-row bracelet ($5,300) or green, Bordeaux, or anthracite alligator leather strap ($5,000).

The Navitimer 36 is also available in a two-tone stainless steel and 18-karat rose gold (which Breitling calls “red gold”) model with white mother-of-pearl dial and lab-grown diamond hour markers. It’s available with a stainless steel and 18-karat gold seven-row bracelet ($9,650) or brown alligator leather strap ($7,250).

The final new version of the Navitimer 36 is rendered entirely in 18-karat rose gold with a mother-of-pearl dial, lab-grown diamonds, and choice of 18-karat gold bracelet ($33,000) or brown alligator leather strap ($12,950).

The Navitimer 32 features the Breitling Caliber 77, a thermos-compensated “SuperQuartz” movement, which Breitling noted is COSC-certified and water resistant to 50 meters.

Due to the slimmer dial, the 32 mm doesn’t include the Navitimer’s classic slide rule.

As with the 36 mm, the 32 mm has three distinct models.

The first has a stainless steel case; a pink, white, or light blue mother-of-pearl dial with lab-grown diamond hour markers, and choice of stainless steel bracelet ($4,600) or a pink, Bordeaux, or blue alligator leather strap ($4,300).

The two-tone version combines stainless steel with 18-karat rose gold. Featuring a white mother-of-pearl dial with lab-grown diamonds, it comes with a stainless steel and 18-karat rose gold bracelet ($7,900) or brown alligator leather strap ($5,600).

The final version of the 32 is crafted entirely in 18-karat rose gold with a mother-of-pearl dial and lab-grown diamond hour markers. The strap is available in 18-karat rose gold ($22,000) or brown alligator leather ($9,400).

The inclusion of lab-grown diamonds is significant to the Swiss watchmaker, which notes that the stones are traceable to producers that have achieved the SCS-007 Sustainability Rated Diamond Standard designation.

Breitling calls the 18-karat gold in these watches “better gold,” meaning it is traceable to artisanal and small-scale mines that meet the Swiss Better Gold Association’s criteria for social and environmental standards.

Watches in the Navitimer line with Breitling’s “Origins” label, like the 36 mm with alligator leather strap and 32 mm with 18-karat rose gold strap pictured, feature lab-grown diamonds from producers that have achieved the SCS-007 Sustainability Rated Diamond Standard designation and/or gold from mines that meet the Swiss Better Gold Association’s criteria for social and environmental standards.

The watches that feature this gold and/or lab-grown diamonds are marked with Breitling’s “Origins” label, denoting their traceable aspect.

Charlize Theron is the official face of the new watches, Breitling said, and stars in the accompanying campaign called “Navitimer—For the Journey.”

Also featured in the campaign are dancer Copeland, basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Swiss explorer Bertrand Piccard.

The Navitimer 36 and 32 are available now.
