San Antonio, Texas—This spring, Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry plans to open its third store in San Antonio, Texas, and 10th location overall.

Lee Michaels said Wednesday the store will open in April at the Alamo Quarry Market, a shopping and entertainment plaza built on the site that was once home to the Alamo Cement Plant, which was in operation for more than 100 years.

It will be located at the market’s north entrance, next to the Woodhouse Spa.

The new 5,000-square-foot location will have a new look for Lee Michaels, with 24.5-foot-high ceilings, a mezzanine level and an area where customers can sit and sip craft cocktails.

It will also have a first-of-its-kind “Rolex corner” and shop-in-shops for Tudor, TAG Heuer and David Yurman. New to the store will be watch brand IWC.

“This year will mark our 23rd year in business in the San Antonio market and 45th year as a company. We thank the San Antonio community for being a part of that success,” said Ryan Berg, Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry owner and co-president.

“This community’s support over the last 23 years has made it possible for us to open a third location in the market.”

In addition to the new store, Lee Michaels announced it will remodel and expand its store in San Antonio’s Shops at La Cantera mall this fall in order to “elevate the aesthetic” and double the inventory.

It also plans to update the design of its North Star Mall store and add a Mont Blanc shop-in-shop and a new watch brand, Grand Seiko, there.

News of Lee Michaels’ expansion in the San Antonio market follows the opening of a new store in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2018—its ninth location—and the 2021 opening of a 10,000-square-foot freestanding store in Metairie, Louisiana, which replaced a smaller mall store.

Opened in 1978 by Lee Michael Berg and headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry is a Jewelers of America and American Gem Society member store with locations in four states.

Brothers Ryan, Scott and Chad Berg, the second generation in the family business, currently lead the company.
