Pomellato Debuts Annual International Women’s Day Video
Actress and activist Jane Fonda stars in the video for the fifth consecutive year.
Pomellato brought together famous female faces for its annual International Women’s Day video.
New York—Pomellato is celebrating women for the fifth year in a row with its annual International Women’s Day video.
Titled “The Power of Being Present,” the video is once again led by actress and activist Jane Fonda.
“The video’s message underscores the power of being present today, for ourselves, and for one another,” said the Kering-owned jewelry company in a press release.
“Recognizing the impact of luxury brand visibility, Pomellato upholds this responsibility on the world stage, beginning the ‘#PomellatoForWomen’ platform in 2018 to champion female empowerment, to promote inclusivity, equality and environmentalism, and to ignite and promote change.”
Fonda was joined by Italian actress and director Valeria Golino; Chinese actress and producer Yao Chen; Australian actress, writer and producer Rebel Wilson; American actress and singer Michaela Jaé Rodriguez; Australian actress Samara Weaving; entrepreneur Aisha Tyler; and American actress, singer and songwriter Alexandra Shipp.
In the video, each woman shares their own story, touching on overcoming adversity and being one’s authentic self.
The annual video encourages equality and sisterhood, said Pomellato, with a new theme each year.
In 2018, the first video shared a message of sisterhood among women, while 2019 emphasized that connection, regardless of race, country, age, or creed.
The theme for 2020 was the importance of diversity, inclusion, and tolerance, while 2021 celebrated the power and resilience of women.
Pomellato CEO Sabina Belli shared her thoughts on this year’s theme.
“The messaging women normally receive is that we need to be more, better, different. This year, Pomellato wants womenkind to hear and remember that we are enough – we are more than enough. Let’s accept and revel in our imperfections, as they make us unique and human. Let’s be proud of our achievements but also entirely authentic – own it, show it, love it,” said Belli.
“If we are present for each other, it’s that spirit of cooperation and non-judgement that allows us to become the strongest sisterhood. I am proud to stand with Pomellato for Women and I am so proud to carry on these important messages to my sisters”.
In light of the ongoing war in Ukraine, Pomellato recently made a donation to the United Nations Human Rights Council and set up a fundraising campaign for UN Women to support and protect women and girls in Ukraine.
