The watch world was front and center this week with the Baselworld show in Switzerland and Apple’s announcement that it’s dropping the price of its least expensive smartwatch.
The watch world was front and center this week as the Baselworld show took place in Switzerland, wrapping up on Thursday, and Apple announced that it was dropping the price of the Apple Watch Sport by $50.
Two significant gemstones also took the spotlight, as Sotheby’s announced it would sell a 9.54-carat fancy deep blue diamond that once belonged to Shirley Temple and Christie’s revealed the 15.99-carat “Jubilee Ruby” it will put up for auction in New York next month.
Meanwhile, the Diamond Empowerment Fund revealed two more honorees it will recognize at its “Diamonds Do Good” gala in Las Vegas this June and Signet Jewelers reported an increase in comps for the full year, buoyed by strong diamond fashion jewelry sales in the fourth quarter.
